Nashik, 15th September 2023: Satyajeet Tambe, Member of Legislative Council (MLC) representing the Nashik Graduates Constituency, has voiced his support for the ongoing student protests in Pune, where aspiring candidates for competitive exams are demanding justice and fairness in the recruitment process. Tambe expressed his concerns about the government’s decision to opt for contract-based recruitment, which, he believes, could have adverse consequences for the youth.

According to Tambe, the government had initially assured regular recruitment opportunities through an online portal. However, recent developments have seen the government steering towards contract-based hiring, raising apprehensions among students and job aspirants. Tambe argues that positions related to education, including teachers and various government and semi-government roles, should not be filled on a contractual basis.

In a statement, Tambe called upon the government to pay heed to the grievances of the competitive examination students and reconsider its decision promptly. He emphasized the importance of fair and equitable recruitment processes to ensure equal opportunities for the youth and promote transparency in government hiring.

The protests in Pune have gained momentum in recent weeks, with students demanding that their voices be heard and their concerns addressed by the authorities. As the agitation continues, the government faces mounting pressure to review its stance on contract-based recruitment for competitive exams.
